The Minerals Engineering programme started in 1961, upon the recommendation of the Ghana Chamber of Mines to the Government to redefined the mission of the then Tarkwa Technical Institute (TTI), to incorporate the training of mineral technicians and other middle level manpower for the country’s minerals industry and related industries. Since then, programmes in the Department have been developed and expanded from Certificate, Diploma and to Degrees.
